The dates in this map are rough estimates. They come from the PLUTO dataset, which is an unreliable source.

Here are some ways to accurately determine the age of a building:

• The Landmarks Preservation Commission.
• The Department of Buildings - plans, permits, certificates of occupancy. These often are not available online and require going in person.
• The Department of Finance tax records.
